About Me

Hello, my name is Sébastien A. Bouhot. I’m French and have been living in Mauritania for over 20 years.
From 2004 to 2009, I managed the Auberge Caravane in the Tergit oasis.
I support women’s cooperatives in Nouakchott that make traditional khaima tents, and I’m actively involved in many local projects.
Passionate about Mauritania and its unique heritage, I’m dedicated to helping others discover this fascinating country in all its diversity — culture, craftsmanship, nature, and authentic experiences.

With experience in both tourism and traditional crafts, I created this website to share tailor-made journeys, cultural stays, and desert adventures, while highlighting local artisans and traditions.
My goal is to create authentic and memorable experiences for all who wish to discover Mauritania differently.

Bonjour, je m’appelle Sébastien A. Bouhot. Je suis français, installé depuis un peu plus de 20 ans en Mauritanie.

J'ai dirigé l'Auberge Caravanne de Tergit (oasis) de 2004 à 2009.

Je soutien les coopératives de femmes couturières de tentes khaima à Nouakchott, et suis actif dans de nombreux projets locaux. 

Passionné par la Mauritanie et son patrimoine unique, je me consacre à faire découvrir ce pays fascinant sous toutes ses facettes : culture, artisanat, nature et expériences authentiques.

Avec une expérience dans le tourisme et l’artisanat, j’ai fondé ce site pour partager des voyages sur mesure, des séjours culturels et des aventures dans le désert, tout en mettant en valeur les artisans et les traditions locales.

Mon objectif est de créer des expériences authentiques et mémorables pour tous ceux qui souhaitent découvrir la Mauritanie autrement.
